Donors
This page highlights our Corporate Donors, a mixture of companies, individuals and community groups, who make a higher annual contribution to the Trust. In supporting them you are helping to support the Gloucestershire Orchard Trust as well!
Please note that several of these Donors are also Trustees of the Gloucestershire Orchard Trust. If you do get in touch with them, please ensure all parties are clear as to whether a Trustee is acting pro bono on behalf of the Trust or in their own personal or business capacity.
Days Cottage
Day’s Cottage Apple Juice is a family run business, based on the family farm, and reviving a long tradition of cider and perry making in Gloucestershire. In previous generations every farm had its orchards, and most had their stone cider presses; we have merely brought these traditional methods up to date and are making totally pure juice, ciders and perry, the only process being that of pasteurisation.
Please note: the owners of the Day’s Cottage are Trustees of the Gloucestershire Orchard Trust.

Dunkerton’s Cider
For nearly forty years we have been making premium organic cider and perry crafted in artisan spirit and vision. Using distinctive flavoured cider apples and perry pears we hand blend the juices using skills and techniques lost over time to the advances and pressures of mass production.

Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust
Our mission at Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust is a simple one – to value nature. Our ambition is to preserve, recreate and reconnect Gloucestershire’s wild places.
We want everyone in Gloucestershire to value, enjoy and share wildlife in the county and believe strongly that nature matters, not only in its own right, but for the huge benefits it brings to the people of Gloucestershire.

Oliver’s Cider and Perry
Oliver’s Cider and Perry use cider apples and perry pears to make their spontaneously fermented drinks. Orchards are the foundation for their cider and perry.

Lodge Farm Trees
We are a small nursery growing and selling traditional and rare varieties of fruit trees. We have been working closely with the Gloucestershire Orchard Trust and are currently propagating old rare apple, pear and plum varieties originating from the Gloucestershire area, some of which have never been commercially available before. We are excited about this and are looking forward to seeing these old varieties back in orchards and gardens across the county and beyond, in the coming years. All trees that we grow are field grown and so are sold bare rooted, the bare root season runs from late November to the end of March.

Martin Hayes
Martin is the Trust’s Orchard Ambassador, his practical knowledge of orchards being second to none. He has been involved in the top fruit industry for over 40 years and his back-catalogue of customers ranges from large country estates to the gardens of terraced houses. His work includes:
- Planting, including planning, the supply of trees and materials, planting and guarding and on-going maintenance;
- Pruning, from formative pruning of young trees to restorative pruning of long-neglected trees and everything in between;
- Talks and Workshops, to pass on his knowledge as well as the history and experience of land workers over the past 40+ years.

Walcot Organic Nursery
Situated in the Vale of Evesham in Worcestershire the nursery was established in 2000 to grow fruit trees organically. The aim was to grow varieties that had been grown over many years in the area, long before the advent of modern pesticides. Since then we have expanded our range greatly to include over 80 varieties of dessert & culinary apples as well as cider and crab apples. Being in a traditional plum growing area, we now offer over 30 varieties of plum, gage & damson, some of whihc are local to the Vale of Evesham area such as Pershore Purple & Yellow Egg. We supply them all over the UK during the winter when they are dormant (December – end of March)
