Because of Coronavirus, most events this spring and summer have been cancelled.

These are orchard-related events in our area – some organised by GOT, some by partner organisations. Click an event title to bring up more detail. If you want to see just GOT Events click here, or just Partner Events click here.

You can display events in List View or Calendar View. To switch between them use the ‘VIEW AS’ drop-down menu below.  You can search for specific types of events (pruning, grafting, blossom, talks, workshops etc etc) in the search field available on the listing pages.

Volunteers needed for wood chipping at Longney Orchards!

Saturday, September 30th, 2017 - Sunday, October 1st, 2017

Volunteers needed for wood chipping at Longney Orchards!

Saturday 30 September 2017 (and probably Sunday 1 October).

If you can spare an hour or two (or longer if you can) GOT’s Longney Orchard Management Group would be extremely grateful!

We need to clear all the prunings and chip or stack them neatly, to help meet requirements for Countryside Stewardship for flailing the grass afterwards with the aim of introducing sheep to the orchards in the near future. You will be guided as to what needs doing. GOT is hiring a heavy duty chipping machine for the weekend, thanks to funds from Trust Juice.

Please bring appropriate weather attire (including long sleeves), footwear, packed lunch/refreshments, something to sit on, gloves etc. If you have pruners & goggles that would help but we do have some tools.

Please contact Ann Smith for further information and to let us know if you think you can help – or

There is the Anchor Inn nearby if folk wish to eat there.

Please note the ground is uneven and there are nettles/brambles.

This event is not suitable for younger children due to nettles and machinery.
