Shadow Orchards Talk & BBQ at Hartpury Orchard Centre

Saturday, July 7th, 2018 @ 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm

EDIT:  This event was postponed – a new date will be announced in due course.

3.00pm: A talk by Jim Chapman about feral fruit; the fruit trees of hedges and byways known as the Shadow Orchard.

Followed, at 4.00pm,  tea/coffee and a chance to see the fruit processing set-up at Hartpury and hear about the options to use or hire the facilities, presses and other equipment from this autumn.

This will be followed by a guided walk around the perry pear orchard.

From 5.00pm there will be perry, cider and burgers, when we can just chat and enjoy the lovely surroundings. Karen Humphries (TCTOP Project Officer) will also share with you the work that GOT has done for the project.

This will also be a chance to meet a new resident of the orchard – an art installation which is part of the Cotswold Arthur’s Hare Trail

This is a free event, funded by TCTOP, although we are asking for donations for the BBQ to cover costs. Please book via Ann Smith  or (letting Ann know if you are a veggie).

Jim has just written a small book entitled The Shadow Orchard, available to purchase on the day or from our online bookshop.
