Pruning Workshop at Astmans Orchard, Longney

Saturday, July 1st, 2017 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm

A Pruning Workshop at Astmans Orchard, Longney, organised by GOT for the Three Counties Traditional Orchard Project at Astmans Orchard, Longney  Grid Ref SO 760140.  Thanks to Angela Scrivin.

10.00 to 15.00 or whatever time you can spare.

This is a great opportunity to learn the skills of pruning stone fruit, which should only be pruned in summer, at Angela’s plum orchard. Martin Hayes will lead the workshop. This is 3 acres of traditional mainly Excalibur plum orchard (a lovely dessert & culinary variety) with some apple trees.

As ever please be aware of uneven ground, bring sun protection, bring lunch/drinks and something to sit on. There are toilets and food at The Anchor Inn, a couple of miles south.

Parking: you will be advised on arrival. No dogs (livestock nearby).

Please let Ann Smith know if you can attend – book via

Any questions, email Ann or ask Martin on 07900 985679.
