Apple Afternoon at Days Cottage Orchard Centre
Sunday, October 8th, 2017 @ 1:00 am - 4:00 amFree
Here you can talk to Dave Kaspar and Helen Brent-Smith about your orchard requirements and bring apples for possible identification. You can also order heritage fruit trees.
This is the home of the Museum Orchard (of Gloucestershire varieties of apple), the Orchard & Rural Skills Centre, their award winning (unsprayed) juice, cider & perry business (Days Cottage Apple Juice) and orchards (both young and old). There will be cider, juice & apples for sale, apple cakes and other refreshments to buy in their cosy yurt and fruit trees for sale. Some activities for children.
Bring your own apples for juicing in their commercial press (their staff will be there to operate this at Brentlands Farm down the road). Maximum of two carrier bags full of apples for juicing per household please! You can bring your own containers to collect juice, but Dave/Helen will have some. 50p per litre helps to cover costs. Bring apples for informal identification (3 representative samples of each, but not hundreds, please.)
Bring own picnic and something to sit on, plus umbrellas if wet. There is limited shelter. Composting toilet. Informal live music afterwards.
Parking: in field at Days Cottage (one way system in operation). No need to book.
We look forward to seeing you!
